There have been barristers’ chambers at 39 Park Square since the 1870s; a time when Leeds was still part of the old Northern Circuit. We are in fact the longest established set of chambers on Circuit.

From that time Chambers has maintained a strong emphasis towards criminal law.

Our aim is to offer a first class service. We believe in treating our instructing solicitors as valued clients and we aim to provide those clients with quality advocacy at all levels of experience.

We have conference facilities in Leeds and our members are equally willing to travel to both instructing solicitors’ offices and court centre to accommodate our professional and lay clients.

We are able to accept instructions covering the entire spectrum of criminal offences.

We have members of chambers who specialise in areas such as murder, manslaughter, serious violence and public disorder, rape (and all other aspects of the ‘new’ legislation in respect of sexual offending), importation and supply of proscribed drugs, fraud (including corporate fraud, employee and mortgage fraud and money laundering), all aspects of firearms law, trading standards and consumer law, food safety and education prosecutions, licensing (both liquor and hackney carriage), road traffic, police and prison disciplinary hearings, A.S.B.O.s and football banning orders.

In addition we have a specialist team dealing with all aspects of courts martial and military law.

Chambers has a number of barristers who specialise in civil litigation with particular emphasis on Personal Injury, Property law including Landlord and Tenant, Contract Disputes and Chancery Law.

Members of Chambers accept instructions in Family Law both Public and Private and Ancillary Relief.

Members of chambers regularly attend the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal on appeals pertaining to asylum, entry clearance, student appeals and work permits.
